Trying new things

I have always made 12x12 scrapbook pages until my sister asked me to make her a “small scrapbook” showcasing her wedding and bridal showers. I decided to go with 6x6 pages and I LOVE THIS SIZE! It is great to make an album for a family member as a gift or even taking a 6x6 page and putting it into a frame. I saw this layout online and I had to case it.

The paper is from the Candy Cane Specialty Designer Series Paper from the Stampin' Up! 2010 Holiday Mini Catalog (retired product). The paper works well with other products, too, including the 2-Step Bird Punch which I'm showcasing here. I punched a Real Red and a Garden Green bird, and just switched out the branch that punches with the birds. I then sponged the edge of the birds and their wings with a bit of Espresso ink, which gives them some nice dimension. Voila! One page down and about twelve more to go to complete my Christmas 2010 mini-album.

So many of my scrapbookers stress too much about their pages and layouts that they actually never get much done. I have done that too but I am concentrating more on K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Silly)
